Calm Down, Mean Black Cat!

Oh no! It's Mean Black Cat. You had better get out of his way! Just look at him stomping through the streets of Pongo Island, glancing at the happy residents with his angry, squinting green eyes! What in the world made this cat so, so angry?

You see, Mean Black Cat wasn't always mean. In fact, just a few, short years ago, the mean black cat of Pongo Island was simply a cute black kitty. It all started when Mean Black Cat's parents, Striped Sally and Bob-tailed Bob came to Pongo Island with the traveling cat circus. Bob was an amazing juggler, and Sally walked the tight-rope, and they would bring their beloved kitty, Cute Kitty, with them everywhere they traveled.

Well, it was time for the traveling circus to pack up and leave Pongo Island, so they packed everything into their traveling circus ship, and they were all set to cast off and set sail for their next location. Sally and Bob tucked Cute Kitty in nice and tightly in his bed aboard the ship, and settled into their own beds for the night. As Cute Kitty was laying in bed, he realized he had forgotten his favorite toy on the beach, and quickly jumped out of bed to go search for it.

As Cute Kitty searched the beach intently looking for his favorite toy, he didn't notice the traveling circus ship floating away quickly. By time Cute Kitty found his favorite toy and turned around to head back to the ship, it was almost out of sight, traveling away from Pongo Beach, and leaving Cute Kitty behind.

Cute Kitty thought his parents had abandoned him, and ran from the beach into the streets of Pongo Island, where he has lived ever since. Bob and Sally, of course, came back to search for their beloved Cute Kitty, but he was nowhere to be found. That night the cute black kitty, feeling angry about being left behind, became the mean black cat of Pongo Island.
